This is another collection designed by our artist Rachel, when we suggested baby dinosaurs she immediately understood our direction and created 12 cute and cuddly dinosaurs. The end result once they were embroidered was stunning. This is a cute new collection designed by our artist Rachel. She created 12 cute and cuddly owls that we embroidered using different types of furry minky fabric. The owls became even cuddlier with this decorative fabric. Each of the owls comes in two different sizes for all of your embroidery needs. For our samples we created two simple pillows featuring an owl with a ladybug and the other with a ladybug and a bright green caterpillar. We framed the owl with yellow grosgrain ribbon and then added a few ladybug buttons that we found in a fabric store. Then we dressed up the green pillow with brown fringe with balls and eyelet lace. We finished the round pillow with white tassel trim. There is an additional tutorial included on the CD-Rom called "Baby Tutorial" which demonstrates how to embroider applique designs. It also includes patterns and ideas for quilts, diaper bags, bumper pads and other baby projects.

Whether you create this project or design your own, everyone is sure to love the Baby Peacocks. For the project we created a 6 block wall hanging using the larger 6"x10" peacock designs. Each block is 10" x 14" when finished (don't forget to allow for seam allowances). First we embroidered all of the peacocks on a white cotton fabric with a small tone on tone pattern. Then we added a 1" border between each block using different shades of blue grosgrain ribbon and then framed all four blocks with 2" of the turquoise marble fabric. Once we were finished we bound the wall hanging with the gold marble cotton. There is an additional baby tutorial located on the CD-Rom that showcases different types of quilt patterns as well as instructions on how to create applique and stuffed animals as well.

We created a beautiful wall hanging with the baby penguin designs. Instead of standard straight blocks we created a slash pattern as a background using pastel marbled flannels in shades of blue and lavender. We created the background first and then embroidered the penguin designs on it. You can place as many penguins as you like on it. Of course these designs would look beautiful on clothing as well. There is an additional tutorial on the CD-Rom that shows you lots of other ideas for baby quilts, and other projects as well as instructions on creating applique.

We embroidered the ponies using minky fabric for the appliques. We found that by using minky fabric the ponies looked even cuter and you will find them irresistible. We embroidered all of the designs on a marble flannel fabric. For the project we created a 4 block wall hanging using the larger 6"x10" pony designs. Each block is 10" x 10" when finished (don't forget to allow for seam allowances). We then added a 1" border between each block using the spotted minky fabric and then framed all four blocks with 2" of the same spotted minky. Once we were finished we bound the wall hanging with the marble flannel. Whether you create this project or design your own, everyone is sure to love the baby ponies.

Bow-Wow... and Yep-Yep... here come those roly-poly puppies, all soft, and cuddly! This design package comes complete with all the puppy necessities such as a food bowl, bone, fire hydrant and even down to the mischievous muddy foot prints! We have tested this collection with one of our very own employees baby girl and she loves her blanket with soft puppy appliques!
So, we know your baby will love theses puppies just as much as we do!

At some point in time every little girl will host a Tea Party. But who are you going to invite to this party. How about bunnies, bears and geese? How about something to nibble on? Cupcakes, strawberries and honey sounds nice doesn't it? Well you'll get all of that with this new addition to the Baby Line. Now all you have to decide is do you want one lump or two.

Using these adorable turtle designs we created a quilt in a blue and green color scheme which is great for a little boy, but change the colors to pink and green and it is perfect for a little girl. First, we embroidered each of the turtle designs on squares of beige colored knit fabric. Then we attached the embroidered squares to the green plaid seersucker fabric background using rickrack and ribbon. This technique gives the baby quilt a unique look!

We hope the Baseball Bears collection will be a home run with all our embroidery "baseball fans!" Our project for this collection is a three-block wall hanging. This wall hanging would be adorable in any little boys' room. The designs were all embroidered on polar fleece. You will create a very soft quilt when you use polar fleece for both the applique designs and for the background fabrics. We backed the quilt with polar fleece as well. Just think of the color combinations you could come with, even your favorite team colors!

Since there are so many butterfly collections out there we decided to do something completely different with our "Big Butterflies" collection. We decided to make them giant! Each butterfly consists of 3 different hoopings resulting in a butterfly that is 10" high by over 12" wide. The Cardinal icons create this beautiful crazy quilt design. We had fun choosing the different lace fabrics for the background giving it a nice texture and the red cardinals against the white lace just pop as they sit perched on the tree branches. Creating Crazy Quilts on an embroidery machine is such an easy technique! The crazy quilt technique has been popular with quilters for years but if aren't a quilter you have probably never tried this amazing technique. If you are a quilter that embroiders as well....you can combine both hobbies into this project. There are a multitude of fabrics to choose from so this was a fun way for us to launch this technique. You create a crazy quilt by mixing different fabrics in a patchwork style. There are a few different crazy quilt designs for embroidery machines but the techniques that were used required a lot of steps that involved folding fabric and it took a long time to complete a block. We used a much simpler technique with these designs. The best part about crazy quilts are when they are complete you have a scene with a large icon in the center instead of just a quilt. Our tutorial contains an extensive guide that will demonstrate how to choose your fabrics, create a block and finish the quilt. In the finished wall hanging notice how the bands of fabric continue through the whole design even though they are done in different hoopings.

These stitched dog designs are really great with their whimsical poses and playfulness! They would really look good as an embroidered theme in a little boy's room on pillows and window treatments. Or you could even make an outfit with embroidered designs for that furry friend of yours. This collection has 6 unique dog designs in two sizes.

Recently, Anita Goodesign hosted an online survey and one of the questions we asked was" If you could choose the next theme for a new collection, what would it be?" There were thousands of different requests, but one that kept popping up was "realistic dragons". So, when we were discussing new ideas for upcoming releases at a company meeting it turns out that our newest artist loves dragons and immediately threw herself into this project. She created a fantastic painting of a dragon flying over a mountainous valley at night and needless to say, we were all quite impressed with her effort! Linda and I decided on batik fabrics for the project because they made a beautiful background sky effect with the mottled and tie-dyed colorations of grey and black. Then it came time to do the digitizing. I decided to stipple the whole background with three different layers of thread. This creates stability for the fabric as well as a great shimmering sky when using metallic thread. When digitizing the dragon, I began with a base fabric applique. This keeps the stitch count down and gives the dragon a deep, saturated color base. Now, all of the additional hand done layers of colors for shading and scales will really pop! I used another piece of stone colored batik as applique base for the mountain and even more hand worked, free form stitches to texturize it with layers of color. The end result of all this work is stunning! It is not often that I get to create a really awesome piece of embroidery art! You will surely feel the same when you embroider it for yourself! This is a six block tile scene that comes in three file sizes; a small size for the 6"x10" hoop, a medium size for the 7"x12" hoop and a large size for the 8"x12" hoop. This is also the first tile scene we have created that includes an embroidered border to frame the finished design. The border consists of ten different segments to surround the dragon as a framed work of art. We did it tone on tone to simulate a carved effect when viewed from a distance. The border designs each have an outline/framing stitch so they are easy to piece together. We even included the framing stitches for the mitered corners!

This collection is one that looks absolutely fantastic in metallic threads, especially on the wings! Make sure you look over the tutorials on this disc for extra information. These designs look great on towel sets or try them on jeans as an accent design.

The Dragonflies 2 collection is filled with a variety of colorful designs. First we designed a group of jumbo applique dragonflies. We created the 10 different dragonflies using a kaleidoscope of colors; each dragonfly is digitized differently for a unique look. The jumbo applique designs are for the 6"x10" and 7"x12" hoop. We then created 12, 5"x7" stitched dragonflies. There are also 4 large scenes as well as over a dozen complimentary design elements. The last of the designs we created were large swirls. You are probably wondering why all of the different designs and sizes? We created a landscape quilt using all of the different dragonflies, background elements and swirls. The project came out great and if you have never created a landscape quilt before, this is a great way to try it. We also embroidered a ladies white blouse using one of the larger scenes and then added colorful buttons to jazz it up even more!

The Fantasy Birds Collection is our 3rd Special Edition. The first two Special Editions were similar in that they were symmetrical floral quilts. This is entirely different. This collection has beautiful birds in beautiful Jacobean inspired flowers. There are also 4 different birds that cover multiple blocks. This collection has a lot of options. There are fully stitched blocks, blank blocks and dozens of individual designs. Each of the different blocks comes in 3 different sizes and many include mirrored versions. There is absolutely no editing needed on your part to create the projects, simply embroider the designs with your choice of fabrics, then sew the blocks together to form your quilt or pillow, it's that simple! Welcome to the third installment of our Backyard Birds series of embroidery designs. This one will be a favorite for everyone and is titled Hummingbirds. These designs look beautiful on both garments and home decorating projects. The collection contains beautiful Hummingbirds in flight and dozens of flowers. These designs are great because you are able to create large arrangements with Hummingbirds and flowers!

In the forests and streams of northwest America there lies some of the most beautiful landscapes and wildlife this country has to offer. We tried to capture some of that magic with the "Northwoods" collection. You will see things like a majestic eagle, a wolf howling at the moon, a moose wading in the river and of course the king of all forests, the grizzly. This mini collection offers many designs, (32 in all), including a handful of appliques.

The Nouveau Birds and Leaves collection was inspired by the Arts and Crafts / Art Deco era with beautiful, graceful lines and elements. This collection has two distinct design sets in it. The first design set is stencil inspired leaves digitized two different ways. The first way is with a motif fill and satin stitch outline. The second way is with a 7-ply running stitch so that the outlines would be very bold. The designs can be linked together down a pant leg or for a quilt block. The second set is comprised of more leaves of a different style and birds. The birds were digitized in two truly unique ways. The first way is a stitched version, the fill stitch part of the bird uses contour running stitches and hand stippling for a light yet interesting look. The birds look great on garments this way because they remain light. The second version of the birds is created with a 7-ply running stitch that looks great on garments for a light look or you can do them as reverse applique. There is also a version of the birds created for raw edge applique. We used leather on the applique designs.

For this project we used quilt pattern 2 from the Baby tutorial. The patterns and tutorial are located on the CD Rom in the tutorials folder. This is an easy quilt to create; all of the Panda bears were embroidered on a mint colored flannel. Once they are embroidered we trimmed them into squares and then stitched the individual squares onto the background fabric. This technique eliminates conventional piecing. You can then embellish the squares with ribbon or rick-rack.

You are going to love the latest addition to our vintage line titled Peacock Cutwork. This beautiful collection features 7 jumbo peacock designs and even includes a multi-position jumbo peacock. There are 32 different files total and three different projects for this collection. The first project is a tea towel, the second project is a wall hanging and the third project is a tablecloth (not shown here). There are step-by-step instructions in our comprehensive tutorial on how to create all these projects.

One of the best ways to showcase big beautiful embroidered art are tile scenes. Our number one request for tile scenes is to create one that can be displayed all year! Well, here it is! As you know, peacocks are large birds and it is very hard to get all of the detail from their feathers into a 6"x10" hoop, so we decided to create a jumbo scene. The large scene allows all of the beautiful detail of the peacock to really come through with thread. This is a 20 block tile scene that comes in three different sizes, a small size for the 5"x7" hoop a medium size for the 6"x10" hoop and a large size for the 7"x12" hoop. A premium feature of this tile scene, the background stippling, is built into the embroidery design so you don't have to add it later. As far as tile scenes go, this one has among the least amount of colors in it and uses the least amount of fabric. We hope you enjoy this beautiful collection and it is easy to embroider with our step-by-step tutorial.

We had so many ideas for peacocks that we created four different collections in one month, this peacock collection uses applique and the art was drawn with an Art Deco era feel. They were a lot of fun to design and we used a few different techniques and color combinations. Some were embroidered with the traditional blue colors and then for fun we threw in golden and fuscia versions as well. All of the large peacocks have one thing in common they use applique. We actually used metallic appliques; this made a huge difference in the WOW factor of the designs. You can use any type of shiny fabric for the applique. If the fabric you choose is thin simply back it with a fusible interfacing to make it more stable. To go along with the large peacocks we included lots of feathers and smaller motif's so you can further embellish any project! We created three different types of projects for this collection. The first is a standard pillow, then we created a wall hanging and finally we embellished a woman's blazer.

Some birds are considered to be beautiful, some are very wise & some are graceful but Penguins and Puffins hold the title of being the cutest. These little guys are ready to be part of your cooool projects. Try them on garments like sweatshirts and t-shirts. That's what we did and we were very pleased with how great they came out. There are 25 different designs including several appliques.

You are going to love our Piglets collection! There are 12 adorable pigs in this collection and they come in two sizes each, one size for the 5"x7" hoop and one for the 6"x10". Our artist Rachel Woodhouse's inspiration for the artwork for this collection was from her very own teacup piglet named "Cupcake". These designs are fun for any age; they look great on clothing or decor projects such as quilts. For one of our projects we embroidered a simple six-block quilt. For the second project we used a child's size sweatshirt to applique and embroider these cute designs and then embellished the sweatshirts with ribbon and buttons.

There are 12 lovable reindeer in this collection. The designs come in two sizes each, one size for the 5"x7" hoop and one for the 6"x 10". These designs look great on clothing or decor projects such as quilts. We used brown craft felt for the reindeer applique on our project, but you can easily replace the felt with cotton or fake fur. Our projects for this collection are a simple quilt and two small sweatshirts. The quilt is created without piecing. We simply chose a large piece of fabric for our background, trimmed our embroidered blocks to the desired size and then trimmed the blocks with ribbon. This technique makes creating a quilt much easier. We used Christmas ribbons for our trim on the quilt and embellished the sweatshirts with glittery pom-poms and small jingle bells to give them a fun and festive look.

When we create the projects for our embroidery designs, we usually add quilting and sewing techniques for a finishing touch. Then, when we display the projects at trunk shows and events, we hear comments that these finishing touches are often what you find the most difficult to do! So, while planning this Spring Quilt collection we decided to include some of these techniques right in the embroidery designs themselves! We made four different types of block designs with five different embroidery design themes. The themes are perfect for spring sewing projects: butterfly, dragonfly, blue bird, daisy and strawberry. Each design is made in all four-block styles. Each block is offered in two sizes and the embroidery designs are also included separately in two sizes. Every block incorporates an embroidery technique and a quilt technique.

This is a great collection for babies, or anyone who loves cute animals. Each design has three options; a quilted applique version, a fully stitched version & a stuffed animal version. Welcome to the first design set in our backyard birds series titled Swallows. This is a collection that can be used for either fashion or home decor, in fact, we created projects for both. The Swallows and flowers are realistically digitized with beautiful shading. There are plenty of large scenes as well as smaller flower arrangements and birds all by themselves. The large scenes that we used on the shirt and pillow are actually comprised of three different designs. The designs don’t have to overlap exactly so you will have a little leeway when doing multiple hoopings. The other option in this collection is the flower designs created as running stitch versions. These designs look great on any garment or project but work especially well on lightweight fabrics.

Our thought when we created this collection was to make realistic Teddy Bears, which sounds like an oxymoron but we did it anyway. We wanted a really plush applique to make them as 3-D as possible & minky applique was the perfect solution. The tiger is so striking when completed it looks just like a photograph. We only used four colors of silk fabric in green, orange, brown and white. Then we used black silk for the border and edged it in a black and white cotton print fabric. You are going to love this beautiful tile scene!

This Turkey Crazy Quilt design was created using vintage Civil War replica fabrics. The small motif designs in the fabrics and the color combinations that we used for this sample are stunning. This quilt design can become a perfect addition to all your Thanksgiving family gatherings. Creating Crazy Quilts on an embroidery machine is such an easy technique! The crazy quilt technique has been popular with quilters for years but if aren't a quilter you have probably never tried this amazing technique. If you are a quilter that embroiders as well... you can combine both hobbies into this project. There are a multitude of fabrics to choose from as you can see from the fabrics we chose for this quilt. Mixing different fabrics in a patchwork style makes crazy quilts. There are a few different crazy quilt designs for embroidery machines but the techniques that were used required a lot of steps that involved folding fabric and it took a long time to complete a block. We used a much simpler technique with these designs. The best part about crazy quilts are when they are complete you have a scene with a large icon in the center instead of just a quilt. Our tutorial contains an extensive guide that will demonstrate how to choose your fabrics, create a block and finish the quilt. In the finished wall hanging notice how the bands of fabric continue through the whole design even though they are done in different hoopings.

Take a trip into the woods and visit our cute animals in our new Woodland collection. These designs are perfect to decorate pillows, quilts and even clothing. These designs will compliment any decor and are perfect for the colder months. There are moose, bears, deer, a raccoon and squirrel. There are plenty of motifs and design variations to make any project complete. For our projects we created three different pillows using the large designs. Any standard pillow pattern with a large blank center area would work fine for these designs.
Choosing fabric for these designs is easy as well. For the base fabric we chose red twill and for the border fabrics we chose an assortment of wool plaids. There are tons of plaid fabrics available at any fabric store. When matching your designs to the fabric simply choose a color from one of the plaids and incorporate it into your embroidery design.
